You didn’t expect parents to be this hard.

Social media makes it look so easy. Judging by their pictures and posts, other moms don’t seem to struggle with motherhood like you do.

“Is it just me?”
“Am I doing something wrong?”

All you ever hear is that becoming a mother is the most amazing thing in the world. But, you’re finding it hard to enjoy your baby. Doubting you have what it takes to be a mother. Feeling isolated and ashamed to admit you’re struggling.

If any of this sounds like you, know that you’re not alone.

Self-doubt and exhaustion are common after having a baby. 1 in 7 new moms experience the same distressing feelings you’re struggling with. But with the support of a professional, you won’t have to suffer a moment longer.

Imagine feeling at ease in all your various roles. Reconnecting with who you were before you became parents.

I’m Annette Attolini-Fertuck, PhD, PMH-C, a licensed clinical psychologist who helps overwhelmed, anxious moms thrive in their new role. I know from experience how demanding motherhood can be. And as a specialist in these exact issues, I’m here to partner with you to find sustained relief.

Through my assessment and therapy services, I provide compassionate, evidence-based support to treat the underlying cause of your stress and help you feel like yourself again.

FEES

Fees will be discussed during a phone consultation prior to our first appointment. I offer reduced fees depending on a case-by-case situation. I am aware that for some people who are struggling, it is quite difficult to afford psychotherapy in New York.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

PAYMET

As for methods of payment, cash, checks, and credit cards are all accepted.

Insurance

I accept Aetna Health Insurance. Please check to see if you are covered and that I am a psychologist in your network.
I can also offer Superbills for client’s who are using “out of network” coverage through their insurance. The payment for the session is due at the time of service and it is up to you to contact your insurance company to understand their policy and rate of reimbursement. If you are not sure about your “out-of-network” benefits or how much your insurance will cover, these are useful questions to ask:

– Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
– What is my deductible? Has it been met yet?
– What percentage of each session’s fees will be reimbursed?
– How many mental health sessions do I have per year? Is there a limit?

Any Other Questions

Please contact me for any additional questions you may have.
I look forward to hearing from you!

My approach

You’ve already taken the first (often, the hardest!) step by considering therapy.
Next, you’ll schedule a consultation, which will take place over one or more sessions. During the consultation, I’ll ask you some questions about what’s been going on and what brought you to work with me. I’ll conduct a thorough assessment, which helps to determine the direction for your personalized treatment.
After the consultation, I’ll share what I learned from you and offer customized recommendations for what treatment plan will benefit you most. With your input, I’ll tailor this plan to fit your unique personality and needs.
No matter what that plan looks like, you can expect compassionate, evidence-based support to treat the underlying cause of your stress and help you feel like yourself again!
